Chelsea at the weekend travelled to Bristol Rovrers, the already crowned Champions, in search for second spot.

The Blues started superbly in the first twenty minutes and had two key chances to go ahead... but never converted them.

Bristol got back into the game towards the end of the half and put a lot of pressure of the Chelsea backline.

The deadlock was finally broken when Bristol powerhorse, Trudy Williams, headed home, whilst clashing heads with Chelsea keeper Siobhan Chamberlain, on 42 minutes.

After the break, Bristol eased off the pressure and let Chelsea come at them. Chelsea pressed and pressed throughtout the whole second half but the goal never came!

With 30 seconds left on the clock, Chelsea substitute, Debbie Carey found herself in front of goal with only the goalkeeper to beat... but shot straight at the keeper.

The Bristol supporters gave the Chelsea players a well-deserved standing ovation from the pitch for their valiant efforts.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Chelsea keeper Siobhan Chamberlain had fractured her cheek-bone with the clash with Trudy Williams.

George commented after, "It was a good performance by us, but we just couldn't convert our chances! We matched Bristol in every position on the field and showed that we should be up there battling for second spot, but unfortunately, second is out of our hands and it looks likely that 3rd and 4th are too. Come the end of the season, there will only be a couple of points separating second , third, forth and fifth spot. It's been a season, Bristol Rovers aside, when on their day anybody can beat anybody in this league."
